Traveling by car

Located just north of Fort Worth, Texas Motor Speedway sits in the city of Fort Worth, close to the Texas–Oklahoma border area of North Texas. The Speedway is surrounded by wide highways and open land rather than beaches or city districts, but it is well set up to handle large NASCAR crowds. With strong racing heritage, warm spring weather, and a full race-weekend atmosphere, many fans turn their visit into a longer Fort Worth–Dallas getaway.

Because of the high attendance on race weekends, fans are strongly advised to arrive early, especially on Sunday. If you have a parking pass, always follow the instructions printed on it, as certain lots use specific access routes. Local police and Speedway parking staff will be on site to manage traffic and guide vehicles safely into the correct areas.

Directions

• From Downtown Fort Worth: Take I-35W North, then connect to TX-114 West or SH-170 toward Roanoke. Follow signs for Texas Motor Speedway and the designated parking entrances.
• From Downtown Dallas: Take I-35E North or TX-114 West toward Fort Worth, then continue toward the Speedway via SH-170 or local access roads marked with event signage.
• From Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): Take TX-114 West toward Fort Worth and Roanoke, then follow Speedway signage. This is one of the most direct and popular routes on race weekends.
• From Denton / North Texas: Travel south via I-35W or US-377, then follow event signs leading to the Speedway.

Approximate driving times

• Downtown Fort Worth: ~30–40 minutes (30 miles)
• Downtown Dallas: ~40–50 minutes (35 miles)
• DFW Airport: ~25–30 minutes (20 miles)
• Denton: ~35 minutes (30 miles)

Extra tips

• Expect heavy traffic close to the Speedway, especially before the NASCAR Cup Series race.
• Follow instructions from police officers and parking attendants at all times.
• Parking areas are clearly marked, but some require specific entry routes. Check your pass carefully.
• Do not park on highway shoulders, access roads, or nearby private property. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed.
