Parking

Parking is one of the biggest advantages of attending a race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Unlike many major sporting venues, most parking here is free, well organised, and designed to handle very large crowds without unnecessary delays. Wide access roads, clearly marked parking zones, and on-site traffic management make arriving by car straightforward, even on sold-out NASCAR weekends.

General & Free Parking Options

One of the most fan-friendly features of Texas Motor Speedway is the abundance of complimentary parking. Most general parking areas are completely free, allowing fans to enjoy the race weekend without worrying about extra costs.

The primary free parking zones include:

  • General Admission Lots: Extensive unpaved and grass parking areas situated around the perimeter of the facility, accessible via various entry points depending on your direction of travel.
  • Dirt Track Paved Lot: A convenient paved option located directly across Lone Star Circle from the backstretch grandstands.
  • Additional Perimeter Areas: Various designated lots around the speedway are utilized for general parking during major NASCAR events.

Paid & Premium Parking Options

For fans looking for the closest access to the gates or a faster exit after the race, several paid options are available (pre-booking is highly recommended as these often sell out):

  • Preferred Parking (Gates 4–7): Located on the west side, offering the shortest walking distance to the main grandstands near the primary entry points.
  • Preferred Parking (Gates 2–4): Another premium option providing close proximity to the south-western section of the grandstands.
  • Express Parking: Situated across from the Speedway Club. This zone features dedicated entry and exit lanes to bypass general traffic after the event.
  • Big Hoss TV Tailgating: Premium spots for fans who want to grill and socialize right by their vehicle in designated high-visibility areas.

Directions

From Fort Worth
The preferred route is to take Interstate 35W north, exit onto SH 114, and continue under the overpass before turning toward the Speedway. An alternate option is available via U.S. 287 North and FM 156, which can be useful during peak arrival times.

From Dallas
Fans traveling from Dallas are advised to head west on SH 114. At the junction with I-35W, continue straight under the bridge and then turn right toward Texas Motor Speedway. This route is optimized for large event traffic and is usually the fastest option on race weekends.

From Denton
From Denton, take Interstate 35W south and exit onto SH 114 toward the Speedway. As an alternative, U.S. 380 west to FM 156 south also provides a reliable approach, especially if traffic builds on the interstate.
