ENTERING THE SPEEDWAY

Whether it’s your first visit or another NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, a little preparation goes a long way. Below is a refreshed, venue-specific overview of what to expect around security, tickets, parking, and arrival on race day.

Security and bag checks

All spectators pass through security screening at the gates, and every bag is inspected. Texas Motor Speedway enforces a strict bag and item policy covering food, drinks, coolers, and fan equipment. Items that do not comply may be confiscated and are not returned, and prohibited items can result in removal from the venue. Check the bag policy (here) before you travel to avoid delays at entry.

Tickets and entry

A valid ticket is required to enter the Speedway. Mobile tickets are the quickest option, so have them downloaded and ready before you reach the gates. NASCAR Cup Series weekends at Texas are popular, with grandstands and premium areas often selling out, so purchasing in advance is strongly recommended.

Parking & Transportation Guide

Race day at the Speedway is high-energy and attracts large crowds. To ensure you have a smooth arrival and easy movement around the facility, please review our transportation options:

  • Parking & Rideshare: Free general parking is available on-site. However, due to the size of the venue, be prepared for a walk to the main gates. For maximum convenience, consider using Uber or Lyft; dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones make this a popular, stress-free alternative. Please avoid off-site parking in restricted local areas, as towing is strictly enforced.
  • On-Site Tram Service: To save your legs, take advantage of our tram network. Trams run regularly with stops at the main speedway gates, the Express parking lot, and the WinStar World Casino & Resort Lone Star Circle campground. For the most up-to-date tram routes and facility maps, we recommend checking the official circuit website.
  • Golf Cart Shuttles: Complimentary golf cart shuttles operate throughout major event weekends. Service begins one hour before the gates open and continues until one hour after the checkered flag of the final race.
  • Fan Assistance: Need a lift? Look for the golf carts with the distinctive blue canopies. You can flag one down as they pass or visit an Information Booth in the Fan Zone to request assistance. You can also verify the latest shuttle pick-up points on the official event app or website.
